Medical History Evidence
By this point, you may feel like you’ve been through it all with the medical system. You’ve tried various interventions including medications, injections, and physical therapy, with little to no lasting relief. While that can be incredibly frustrating and even feel hopeless at times, it can also be an important clue: your nervous system may be playing a key role in your symptoms. Not understanding what’s happening in the body can fuel the pain-fear cycle. On the flip side, there’s some comfort in knowing that nothing life-threatening has been found.
Here are some common indicators that your nervous system might be involved:
Scans come back with no results.
Cant find anything medically wrong.
No initial injury.
Injury has healing but have lingering pain.
PT did not change your pain/symptoms.
Injections only work temporarily or amplify the pain.
Acupuncture/ Massage has not changed pain significantly.
Therapy has helped but no improvements in sensations.
Doctor does not know what to do with you.
Medicines only give temporary relief if any.
You've had multiple diagnoses over time with little clarity.
You question if there is a medical diagnosis that has been missed.
